Sewing the Gathering Moments dies, Embossing with dies, and Threading a needle with Linen Thread

Hello,
I couldn't wait to sew the special dies from the Gathering Moments suite. The large leaves dies have holes to sew using the Old Olive and Early Espresso Linen Thread, and I saw another post where someone used a marker to "connect the dots," instead of sewing. I may try that one too.

After sewing lots of leaves, I made a variety of cards using the dies to emboss the background behind the sewn leaves and I added the Gold Open Weave Trim between the leaves and background.

How did I thread my needle to sew? I folded a piece of copy paper at an angle to make a triangle.

I laid the linen thread along the fold.

Then, I re-folded the paper, with a bit of the thread sticking out.

Then, I slipped the paper and thread through the large eye needle.

And then pulled the thread into eye of the needle. I'm ready to sew!!
