Driving By Slider card tutorial

Hello,

I stamped with the Driving By stamp set you can earn during Jan-Feb 2022 Sale-A-Bration.

I wanted to make it look like the car was driving by...get it?

Start with a card base measuring 4-1/4" X 11, score it at 5-1/2" and then cut off 1/2" from the front right side.

Get a piece of Pool Party cardstock measuring 4-1/4" X 5" and cut at both 1" and 1-1/2" from the bottom from 1/2" to 4" to create a slot

Then, adhere a piece of Basic Black measuring 3/4" X 5" to make a road for the car.

On the back of the piece of cardstock, place strips of the Foam strips above and below the slot you just cut out to create a groove for the sliding mechanism to fit. Add more foam strips on the top and sides.
The sliding mechanism is a piece of Basic White measuring 1/2" X 4-1/2"
Place the mechanism down to ensure that it covers the slot you cut out, and use it to place the foam strips. There should be a little bit that will stick out beyond the cardstock.
Stamp out the car, color it, and cut out the car without the balloons.
Push the strip until it only sticks out enough so someone can pull the strip.
Using Stampin' Dimensionals adhere the car to the strip and test it out.  Make sure it pulls across the card smoothly, if not adjust the foam strips accordingly.
Peel off the release tape from the foam strips and adhere it to the card base.  Make sure the strip stays within the groove you created.
Decorate the front of the card with a sentiment and use the white chalk marker to make the black cardstock look like a road.
Adhere a part of a circle punch to the tab that is sticking out. Now test the slider out. And don't forget to stamp a message behind the car to reveal it as you slide the car. Tah-Dah!!
