All girls card making party!!!

Happy Monday!

I was invited by a dear friend, Ana, to host a card making party for her daughter Malena and 6 of her closest friends yesterday. Here are the two cards we made together. I had all the materials prepared in kits for each girl so all they had to do was assemble, stamp and glue together.

First is a lovely standing card with one of my FAVORITE single stamps, Dasher. I embossed some Real Red card stock with the both Petals-a-Plenty and Perfect Polka Dots through my Big Shot for some accents. I love how the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders really give the card stock the texture. I also put a rhinestone to give it a little "bling" to the card. I gave the choice to the girls whether or not to use a red sharpie to color the rhinestone to make the reindeer into Rudolph. The girl's cards were REALLY "blinged" up. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of them!

Next up is the gingerbread people. They are made with the latest craze called Punch Art. So, basically you take a few punches and make something out of it. Some people are REALLY creative and have made Disney characters too! I've done these guys and polar bears before. The girls got really creative and were giving the people purses, earrings, ties and suits, etc. It was great to see all their creativity!

As a "Thank you" to the girls for participating, I made some treat bags with the "It's a Wrap" stamp set and bagged them and topped them with the Top Note Die. I put each girls's name on the top.

Thanks Ana for such a great activity to start off the holiday season!

Thanks for checking in!

My latest creations!!!

So, I've been creating a lot and haven't had a chance to share them with you until now.
Here are the last 5 creations I've made.
1. I have a friend who was selling these fabulous reusable bags as a fundraiser (http://www.mixedbagdesigns.com/- different sizes made from recycled materials) for her children's Tahitian troupe and wanted some "Thank you" tags to attach to the bags when she delivered to them. Because both her daughter and son were both participating, I wanted to make 2 different tags that were girly and masculine. Here are the tags all packaged up with belly band to deep them together.

Here are the tags I made, hole punched and ready to be attached with some raffia.

2. A co-worker just got married and needed some tags for her candle favors. The candles needed tags with the bride and groom's name on them. So I made some 1" X 2" tags with their names and wedding date. To package them up nice, I used my Big Shot to make a box and kept it going with the brown and pink theme. Then I embossed a quick tag and made a belly band to hold it all together.

3. I had a friend ask for a keepsake for her sister-in-law who is expecting twins. I came up with this to capture all the guests' "words of wisdom" for the baby shower. Here's it all closed up with a belly band to hold it all closed:

Once the belly bad is slid off, this is it all opened up. The theme of the baby shower was "Two peas in a pod" for the soon to be arriving twins.

There were two rows of envelopes I put together that held a card for everyone to to write their "words of wisdom" for the mother-to-be. Each card has a tab on the top of it.

4. I have another friend that LOVES polar bears and I totally copied this from another demonstrator Christy Biggs' tag she made. Thanks Christy!

5. This next invitation is for a soon to be 2 year old with a Halloween themed party. It is a "wiper card," which means when you pull on the two white dots, a picture pops up like a wiper on your car! Cool, huh?

And on the back are the details to the party and a little "cow" encouraging everyone to where their costumes! What do you think?

Thanks for checking in!

My last card class of the year!

It all starts with Gingerbread people made from the flower punch, how cute is that?

Now it's the Center Step card with a little bling...rhinestones! See how it stands?

Now it's a framed fold with an embossed flower in the middle.

And lastly, using the flower punch as a bow for the presents.

I'll be out soon with the schedule for 2012. Hope you can join me for my card classes or scrapbooking events.

Thanks for checking in!

My latest card class!

Here is the first card using the newest Lace Ribbon Border punch...pretty cool, huh?

Next is the card with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. I LOVE that one punch can do 3 layers that you can then make different flowers.

Now, another twist to the easel card. This time I used the Top Note die from the Big Shot and used the Modern Label punch to hold the part of the card to stand up. My thought was to use the uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen to write the person's name on the label punch. We also embossed the birthday circle with white embossing powder, so it really pops out.

The last card was one I've been wanting to try out for a long time. It's a Double Slider card. Once you pull one side, both panels come out of opposite sides of the card...Cool, huh?

You know as I always say, my cards need to "entertain me!" I LOVE how it turned out!

Next one is October 15th, put it on your calendar!!!

My latest card class!

Here are the latest creations for the card class I had today!

The first is daisy card. The flowers were make by my Big Shot. a die cut machine that I cut 2 flowers at a time and then layered them together to make them look like a daisy.

Next, is what is called a "Joy fold" card. It has multiple layers and a fancy brad to hold it shut.

Then, comes the corner pop up card. Here it is closed...

Here it is opened. See how it stands up by itself?

And to save the BEST for last...A ladybug spinner card!!!

The ladybug actually spins along the track and goes back and forth along the channel!

Hope you can join me for my next class on July 30th!

I'll have even MORE exciting stuff to show you since the new catalog will be coming out in July.

Thanks for checking in!

Greetings from Basel! FYI, it is 9 hours ahead than PST.

Check out my pictures here: https://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2106609&id=1459609325&l=71508a93e3

Friday, Feb. 18-19
I experienced my first Business Class flight and let me tell you, it was interesting. You get lots of stuff...socks, eye mask, ear plugs, place to put your shoes, soft pillow and extra soft and warm blanket, on demand movies, TV and music. I was served a multicourse meal including salad, choice of entree, dessert and then ended it with a Swiss chocolate. After sleep, you are woken up with a hot towel and full breakfast.
Oh, and did I mention my seat can be in either lounge or bed mode? I can also make the seat cusion softer or firmer and even turn on the massage. I was sleeping most of the 10+hour flight, so I didn't get a chance to take more pictures, but will take more on the flight home to show you what I mean.
Then, from the plane to the train and another 1+ hour ride from Zurich to Basel.
And guess who was waiting for us, it was Lesli and Alex!!! Yay, what a fun surprise! We jumped on a tram to get us from the station to the hotel, dropped off my stuff and got to hang out with the girls. I wanted to jump right into the time zone, so I stayed up untill 11pm this time, took some melatonin and conked out.
Sunday, Feb. 20
I only woke up about 3 times, but then got up to have breakfast with Alex, Rachael and Lesli since Alex asked to "have breakfast in my hotel sometime." That made me get up the right time around here to prepare for my early morning tomorrow. Than, they took me around to where I would be training so I would know where to go. Everthing is within walking distance, so it's not that bad. Then off to see more of Basel and some sites around here. They have LOTS of water fountains, they have them all over the city. There are some fountains, however, that say specifically, "Not Drinking Water."
Since it was Sunday and nothing is open, we will have to do more sightseeing another time, plus it was raining. We had lunch at the restaurant that had a little kid's nook with toys and activities. Perfect for little Miss Alex. Then, back on the tram to get to their place. Since I am in a Swiss hotel, all of your transportation is taken care of. They give you a pass that is good on all the trams and buses.
They wanted me to stay up and NOT take a nap so we hung out and chatted until dinner time. Had a yummy dinner courtesy of Rachael's cooking and once Alex went to bed, we went off to tie up some loose ends with the training on Monday.
Time for me to go to bed, I will try and blog again soon!
Sharon
P.S. Rachael is taking VERY good care of me!

Here's January's card class

First up, in the spirit of using my scraps instead of buying more paper.(Well, for now, you know how New Year's resolutions go...)
A pinwheel card:

Next, a tulip card using the tulip embossing frame and then, who would have guessed that an owl punch + small oval punch = tulip flower? AWESOME!!!

Then, to put a twist on an easel card, using the square scallop die for the Big Shot, and then we also used the paper daisies, pearls or rhinestones.
Here's what it looks like from the side:

Lastly, in the spirit of Valentine's Day, a Tri Shutter card!!!

And yes, when folded, it'll fit inside a regular envelope!

Hope you enjoyed these cards.
Next cardmaking class is in April, hope to see you then!
Thanks for checking in!
Blog ya later!
